Matt: really enjoyed this write up. One quibble - I believe the GOP adopted rules for the 119th Congress that allows suspension motions to be moved any day of the week - no longer just Mondays to Wednesdays.

Can you confirm?

Between state legislatures (specifically Washington and Oregon) and Congress, what has always struck me is that, though chambers meet for less time each day, more is done by the state chambers, and members actually show up. Congress would probably be better if meeting times were shorter each day, but there would be more focus on legislative business during that time, as we see in state legislatures.
